A Wildly Successful Inaugural Benefit Race

The Ski 4 Change Charity is pleased to share the success of its inaugural benefit race in support of Project Education South Sudan, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the education of women and children in one of the world’s newest and most disadvantaged countries. On Saturday, March 28th, over 60 racers arrived on the sunny, cold slopes of Corvatsch Mountain near St. Moritz, Switzerland. The day was calm and bright as the competitors gathered at the top of the course. Slalom races were offered in six categories: babies, minis, youngs 1, youngs 2, open and masters. Individual prizes were awarded to the top three male and female competitors in each group in a pleasant ceremony after the race.

The event was sponsored by UBS, 3G Trading, Pantecnica, Engadine Motion, Ski racing Team in St. Moritz, Ski Service Corvatch, and Ski Racing Gym. The Ski 4 Change would like to extend its warmest thanks to the coaches and trainers whose organizational help made this event possible.

A total of 2400 CHF was raised and these donations will be given to Project Education South Sudan to facilitate the construction of primary schools and campus dormitories, community development, and programs that provide crucial health and wellness education. The funds will allow women and children who would never have access to a well-rounded education to receive instruction in a safe and secure environment where they also can receive proper nutrition and living accommodations in a self-sustaining community. We are proud of our racers and excited to begin planning for next year’s tournament!
