Being raised in the former Soviet Union, our parents couldn’t afford to ski.
Unfortunately, skiing been an expensive sport. But we were lucky that our parents were able to support our lifelong passion for skiing.
In the hopes of making skiing more inclusive and elitist, we are organizing fundraisers, skiing contests, and related events to support financially disadvantaged young people who share our passion for skiing.
Our model for this effort is the revolution that occurred in the tennis world in the past few decades.
What was once an elitist sport, with white suits and champagne breaks at Wimbledom, was deliberately made more democratic, inclusive, and non-elitist. Those efforts lead to great athletes like the Williams sisters.
Our hope is to do our part to make skiing more inclusive and non-elitist.
